I used to work in a supermarket many years ago and where the warehouse was there used to be a courtyard that belonged to an old house.
One day the warehouse manager told me that he turned up for work one morning and opened up the building. He was always the first one there so he could take the bread delivery. Anyway, this particular morning he opened up the warehouse when at the back of the building he could see the figure of a man. Thinking it was the general manager he didn't take much notice.
When the bread delivery arrived both he and the bread man dragged the trays of bread into the warehouse, it was then that the bread man stated that he could see someone watching them from the rear of the warehouse. Realising that something was wrong they shouted to the figure and it started to run towards the exit behind the storage freezer.
At this point they thought it was a burglar who had been trapped so they ran after him, but when they got to the passage that lead to the exit, there was no sign of him. The exit leads into the supermarket but a heavy steel shutter that only the general manager and warehouse manager have keys too blocked it! The door had to be opened by an electric motor and is impossible to open quickly!
There was no way he could have got out of the passage without them seeing him!
As you can imagine they were shocked to say the least!
Later, one of the workers in the store said that her father told her a story of a man who got trampled to death by a horse in the courtyard. He was said to have appeared in the courtyard after his death but fled when he was approached!!!
I have to say that the warehouse was a spooky place at night, there were times I went in there and though I was being watched
