In July 2001 my hubby and I hired a holiday cottage in Macroom, West Cork, Eire for us, our 20 month old daughter and his mum.
Although the bungalow was lovely and the area was beautiful, I felt a creepy feeling there and became ill shortly after our arrival. In one of the bedrooms I found a wedding dress, which I felt was a peculiar thing to leave in a holiday home, but began putting our clothes in the wardrobe all the same.
On our first night I awoke to see my hubby getting out of bed and returning with our sleeping daughter. I wondered why he had brought her in, as she was asleep.
In the morning, I left my hubby asleep and went to the kitchen with my daughter to find my mother-in-law making tea. She told me how she had a terrible night. The room was freezing and she said her teeth were chattering; we had been quite warm in our room. She said she had felt someone climb on the bed and lay on top of her, she was unable to move, call out or breathe properly.
My husband came into the kitchen a while later and seemed puzzled. He told us that he had seen a ghost that night in our daughters room!!! He told us how he could hear her making strange noises on the baby monitor and went in to check on her. He went into the dark bedroom to just about make her little figure out, standing by the bed. He held his arms out saying 'Come on then.' and the figure ran to him and straight through him!! He turned to see our daughter, still fast asleep in her bed!!
There was no more problems for the rest of the holiday, except for our daughter becoming very unwell and needing hospital treatment. She vomited in our bed, which meant we had to sleep in her room, where the ghost was!!! Nothing else happened though.
